About WOI

Women of Isaiah (WOI) is a warm and welcoming community of women of all ages and interests. We are dedicated to enhancing and supporting Temple Isaiah through special programming, financial support, and the involvement of women in the life of our congregation. The spirit of Women of Isaiah can be seen and felt in many ways throughout our Jewish community.
Our sisterhood is enriched as we work together on temple-wide projects like our annual Passover women‘s seder, explore the Bay Area on hikes and food walking tours, and learn together in self-defense and CPR classes. But we always remember that tikkun olam (repairing the world) is at the core of what we do.
Each year, Women of Isaiah distributes thousands of dollars to various organizations within our Temple Isaiah community and greater Contra Costa County through our Maagal Tzedakah – Circles of Giving fund. These funds support playground equipment for the temple preschool, scholarships for the teen advocacy program in Washington DC, green initiatives at Isaiah, and local nonprofits like Loaves and Fishes and Shalom Bayit. As an affiliate of Women of Reform Judaism, we help support progressive Jewish institutions worldwide, fund vital youth programs, and advocate for human and women’s rights.
